Bereits im Jahr 1747 von Maria Theresia gegründet, zeigt das Hofmobiliendepot fast 160.000 Objekte der Habsburger Wohnkultur bis ins 20. Jahrhundert.
Es gilt als das größte Möbelmuseum der Welt. In der Dauerausstellung finden Sie Requisiten der Sissi-Filme. Bemerkenswert ist die Sammlung an Spucknäpfen der Biedermeierzeit, das Schlafzimmer von Franz I., die Wiege des Kronprinzen Rudolf oder der Schreibtisch Maria Theresias, sowie Stilmöbel von Adolf Loos und Otto Wagner.
